Between the 29th of October Primo was represented at the Learning Festival 2014 – WISE Summit in Doha. With a great number of activities planned for visitors and exhibitors, Primo’s schedule was packed with meetings, presentations and workshops – and a bit of well deserved geeking around.
World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) -established in 2009- is an international, multi-sector platform for creative thinking, debate and purposeful action. WISE has established itself as a global reference in new approaches to education.
The Learning Festival 2014, jointly organized by the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) and Katara, is on a mission to creatively share some of the latest developments in learning and education. This year, the Learning Festival offered creative takes on the use of technology in education. Through a major photo exhibition and a series of demos, workshops and performances by leaders of the maker movement, the festival offered a view on the state of play for technology in the classroom, and showcased how maker-centric companies have explored simple analog and digital resources to enhance creativity.
This year, the Maker movement took center stage at the Learning Festival 2014. Primo showcased the Cubetto Play Set alongside companies such as: Ototo, MaKey-MaKey, Little Bits and Technology Will Save Us to name but a few. The three days under the middle eastern sun (or, actually, within the comforts of the air conditioned exhibition center) were filled with a number of workshops introducing children to new ways of learning programming through play.
